Law Hub

The Law Hub Development and Advocacy Centre (Law Hub), with support from the MacArthur Foundation, produced a report on Court Observation of Administration of Criminal Justice Law (ACJL) Application in Corruption Cases across Six States: Akwa Ibom, Adamawa, Kano, Nasarawa, Enugu, and Oyo. Between July and November 2023, observers tracked 86 cases involving 122 defendants to assess the implementation of ACJLs.
Law Hub evaluated compliance with ACJL provisions such as trial time frames, adjournment restrictions, day-to-day trials, plea bargaining, electronic recordings, virtual tools, witness protection, abolition of lay prosecution, and bail administration.

Key recommendations were made based on the findings.
