Our approach to security is the human security approach, which focuses on the need for the government to respond to the different types and levels of insecurity by taking account of the real security needs of the population in all its diversity in public security policies.

We monitor the policies of the government and strive to influence them, either directly or indirectly through advocacy, public statements, institutional procedures, campaigns to ensure that human safety and security needs of the citizens are catered for in the broadest sense.

Our activities are also geared towards the promotion and protection of human rights even within the fight against insurgency, kidnapping and banditry. We achieve this by defending the vulnerable members of society. We help to reduce security threats through improving prevention by working with the population.

We work to strengthen the effectiveness of security and justice sector services provided and improve professionalism of security institutions by offering training in human rights, gender awareness, ethics etc.

We further work with stakeholders to support public decision makers by analyzing needs, evaluating existing policies, and formulating suggestions for future actions needed for the overall safety of Nigerians.
